Construction Industry case study example: Spherical nodes for space frames

• Customer: M/s Shoba Developers, leading company doing lot of structural and glassing projects in Dubai, UAE and India
• Component description: Different Carbon Steel Spherical Nodes with different threaded holes at different angles ranging from 5 to 11 holes and from M14 to M42 threads.
• Volume: Approx 450 unique drawings to make 750 Nodes with more than 60 % of the nodes were made one unit each
• Machine used: Moriseiki NT 4200 DCG /1500S with automatic steady rest which is a Five Axis Multi Tasking Integrated Mill Turn Center.
• Machining process: The versatility of the machine with an accuracy of 0.0001 degree on ‘B’ and ‘C’ axes, combined with a sub spindle makes it possible to machine even one Single Node or a batch quantity but every time a completely finished node is produced which enables us to supply the nodes as per customer’s priority at the shortest lead time.
